COMPANION: Jeremy's EP, info
Companion is the new 5 track EP by Jeremy Oxley, the second solo work released in his career outside of Sunnyboys.
Three tracks are re-recorded, enhanced songs from his unreleased album Monastery (1998), a home recording which is a deeply personal and reflective insight into his feelings and life at the time while battling crippling health issues.
In 2012, now in good health and a loving home situation, Jeremy set to with some of Australia’s finest musicians (Brendan Gallagher, Stuart Eadie & Peter Oxley) to update and breathe fresh life into these songs and in doing so changed the personality and perspective of them.
Two new songs were also added. Movin’ Out a pretty and moving instrumental piece reflects hope with a dash of excitement regarding new prospects, while Magic Parade, co-written with his wife Mary is a song about the bizarre and confusing effects of drug use.
A departure from Jeremy’s early Sunnyboys sound, Companion features a more relaxed country/folk rock feel showcasing Jeremy’s amazing ability to adapt as a musician into any genre.
Companion is available on CD from this website. Just go to the home page for the link. You can also download Companion via itunes.
