Crossing the Line follows the journeys of two young medical students, Amy and Paul, who leave their safe middle class homes and university behind to be thrust into the harsh reality of everyday life on Mornington Island. Like most Australians, they had never been exposed to life in a remote indigenous community.
Throughout the 8 week placement, Amy and Paul move beyond their professional roles to make personal connections with some of the locals. There is an ongoing tension between their personal experience with the community and the distance they are told they need to maintain in order to practice professionally.
This film offers a rare insight into the practical realities of providing Western medical services to indigenous communities and illustrates ways in which engagement can contribute to an improvement in the crisis in Aboriginal health today. (56 mins, parental guidance recommended)

The Long Goodbye
Our brains make us who we are, it gives us our memories, our ability to think, to understand the world around us and it gives us our sense of self. All this is slowly stripped away for a person living with dementia. The Long Goodbye follows three families as they struggle to maintain the identity and dignity of those they love. Filmed over a 3 year period, the documentary celebrates the capacity of the human spirit to search for meaning and hope when the end is known and inescapable.
A very intimate and ultimately uplifting documentary, The Long Goodbye celebrates the best the human spirit has to offer. (55 mins, parental guidance recommended)
